Ballet Classes
Ballet forms the basis of dance technique. HSD's ballet program follows the C.D.T.A. syllabus, instilling poise and grace in each dancer. Competitive and exam students are required to take a ballet class appropriate for their age and ability level. Please note that certain classes also require that a mandatory ballet class be taken.
Dress Code
Pink pleated toe ballet slippers with elastic around instep. Split soles allowed only with the teacher's permission. Point shoes may only be purchased with teacher's permission. Tiny Tot, Primary and Junior students require a bodysuit (pink or black preferred). Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Senior and Advanced students require a black sleeveless bodysuit with pink or tan tights. Hair must be pulled neatly back in bun or ponytail.
Levels
- Tiny Tot (3 1/2 - 4 1/2 years of age)
- Primary (5 - 6 years of age)
- Junior (7 - 8 1/2 years of age)
- Pre-Intermediate & Intermediate (9 - 11 years of age)
- Senior & Advanced (12+ years of age)
